The 2016 Cars on Fifth car show was another great success raising x for the St. matthew's House with a display of incredible cars that lined 5th Ave South from 41 to 3rd Street. Strolling from one end to the other you could see a little bit of everything and something for everyone. The event is put on by the Naples Ferrari Club and they do a super job. The cars come in very early in the morning and are promptly shown to their predetermined parking spot. Getting all those cars parked in such a short time when you think about it and I wish a regular Saturday on Fifth was just as organized. I've spoken to a few of the entrants and they say their favorite part of the show is at the end on the day when the command to start your engines is given over the PA and they drive off in one long line through the tunnel of spectators that line the avenue to watch the spectacle. The variety of cars was exceptional that ranged from a little pink Jeep to a Porsche 918 Spyder. Ferrari was well represented which included a 1961 250 PF Cabriolet II that had the Ferrari crowd drooling. I look forward to the day when a LaFerrari shows up and heard there was a white one that calls Naples home but I've yet to confirm it. Cars on Fifth is one of my favorite annual events and it's hard to beat a day of strolling Fifth Ave under sunny skies checking out the exotic cars finished off by a spectacular sunset on the Naples Pier. I'll be back next year looking for the LaFerrari and if one doesn't show up I really won't care because Cars on Fifth never disappoints.
